At the age of 10, Jeff got his first drumkit and a lesson on how to play a two-finger boogie-woogie on the piano from "Judy" - a teenaged family friend. For many years down in his cellar, Jeff played that boogie-woogie fast and slow, and performed long Gene Krupa/Cozy Cole style solos on his drums. Early on, he bought every single rock & roll, rockabilly and rhythm & blues record he could get his hands on. Before writing and recording his own songs, Jeff was a Vanguard recording artist with Al Anderson's Wildweeds and Clean Living, both of whom had minor national hits and opened for, or shared the bill with Bruce Springsteen, Lou Reed, Miles Davis, Muddy Waters, Bob Seger, Aerosmith, J.Geils Band, Jay Leno, and many more. Jeff then moved on to front 2 bands: The Contenders, and later, Jeff Potter & the Rhythm Agents. He co-produced and played many of the instruments on Betsy-Dawn Williams' Rocket Girl CD on El Toro Records. In addition to performing solo, Jeff has played piano on over 200 Wanda Jackson shows (a 2009 inductee into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame). Jeff has recorded over 40 original songs and has releases on the English labels Nervous, Fury, Raucous Records, as well as Dynamite Records, US, and his latest on El Toro Records, Spain. Studio work has included recording on Columbia, Vanguard and Buddha Records.

Jeff is currently performing solo shows in the northeast.
