Multi-instrumentalist Jeff Potter plays piano, guitar, harmonica and sings with a great feel for rhythm and dynamics. His diverse repertoire encompasses songs hell-bent on getting you to jump out of your seat as well as soulful, tender ballads. He’s recorded over forty of his songs with releases on Nervous, Fury and Raucous Records in England, El Toro Records in Spain and Dynamite Records in the United States.
Before starting his solo career, Potter was a member of “Al Anderson’s Wildweeds” and “Clean Living”, both of whom recorded for Vanguard Records, and had the pleasure of opening for or sharing the bill with Bruce Springsteen, Lou Reed, Miles Davis, Muddy Waters, Bob Seger, Aerosmith, J.Geils Band, Jay Leno, and many more. Jeff has also performed work as a studio musician on Columbia and Buddha Records.
Notably, another career highlight included playing piano for rock and roll legend Wanda Jackson on well over 200 shows, as part of the touring rockabilly combo, “The Lustre Kings”. Jackson was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
Recently he has fronted full-band shows at festivals in Seattle, Green Bay and in Spain. He was voted #2 male performer in 2004, and also #1 instrumentalist and # 4 album of the year in 2007 by editor John Conquest from 3rd Coast Music, Austin, Texas.
